SSSE@THE PURPLE TURTLE
Hi guys, this is my first update in quite some time. I've had a lot going on these past few months, some of which necessitated me coming off Facebook. Unfortunately it does seem to be the primary place for Sputnik news these days. Maybe the days of Sputnik websites, both official and fan based, are numbered?
Anyway, I see that SSSE are making a return trip to Camden's Purple Turtle in March. It's an awesome little venue, well worthy of your attention. Previous Sputnik shows there have always been fun and hopefully Martin will showcase some new material from the forthcoming SSSE album. I've been keeping up with the sound-clips that have been posted and I'm very much looking forward to the final product.

MARTIN UNPLUGGED
Martin's latest release is a four track EP of acoustic covers. I've always loved acoustic rock, memories of the Sigue Sigue Sputnik acoustic set come flooding back. It's nice to see Martin working with Santi again. It's a shame that the Sci-Fi Superstars project stalled at one album. The acoustic take on Virtually Dreaming on Prophet Of Freak has always been a real favourite of mine so hopefully these new recordings follow along in a similar vein. Would have liked to have seen a couple of tracks like Dancerama or Amazing Lover on there. Maybe in the future?
The four tracks on the EP are Vincent (SSStarry SSStary Night), Young Americans, Streets Of London and Little Red Corvette. It's released on dual format, CD or download, priced £6.50 and £8.00 respectively and is available right now on Martin's SITE.
S*S*S?
Now I've been out of the loop for a while. However, I'm assuming the new Sigue Sigue Sputnik recordings promised for the Autumn (2011) never materialised? There's been nothing new on Sputnikworld and the Tony James website has never launched either. I heard there was some internet buzz about trying to organise a reunion of the original members. It does seem though, at this time, Martin continues to be the one flying the Sputnik flag.
So are you all well then? Certainly hope you are. Been missing staying in touch with you guys. As I said, it does seem that Facebook is the place to be for SSS info these days. Maybe I'll have to rejoin? (Doc Jnr nods in agreement).
